The Ashland Chamber Music Society has an exciting concert series for you to enjoy! Join us from October to April, for a wide-ranging array of unique musical experiences. We hope you’ll join us for a season of beautiful sounds! Here’s what you have to look forward to:
- The Kodak Quartet, Friday, October 20, 2023, 7:30 p.m., United Presbyterian-Congregational Church, Ashland, WI – This dynamic, award-winning string quartet from New York brings their passionate, energetic playing to Ashland. They are critically acclaimed for their performances of new compositions and presenting traditional works with a contemporary flavor.
- Wingra Wind Quintet, Friday, November 17, 2023, 7:30 p.m., United Presbyterian-Congregational Church, Ashland, WI – ACMS is pleased to bring the Wingra Quintet to Ashland once again! A faculty chamber ensemble in-residence at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the quintet is known for sophisticated, sensitive, and thoroughly vital performances.
- Handel’s Messiah, Friday, December 15, 2023, 7:30 p.m., Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Ashland, WI – Experience the joy and fellowship of ACMS’s annual holiday event. Handel’s masterpiece is performed by a 20-piece orchestra, several soloists, and a chorus made up of the audience members. Our gift to the community, admission is free!
- Baba Fats, Saturday, February 3, 2024, 7:30 p.m., Alvord Theatre at Northland College, Ashland, WI – Enjoy a transformative night of alluring groves and lush harmonies, produced by a group of six very talented area musicians playing saxophone, trumpet, guitar, keyboards, bass, and percussion. Imagine jazz and beyond; that’s Baba Fats.
- Crossing Borders String Quartet, Friday, March 22, 2024, 7:30 p.m., United Presbyterian-Congregational Church, Ashland, WI – Become immersed in new cultural sounds as Crossing Borders presents “Beyond the Headlines: Haiti in Music”, a concert filled with music by Haitian composers.
- Willowgreen, Saturday, April 20, 2024, 7:30 p.m., United Presbyterian-Congregational Church, Ashland, WI – Prepare for a night of beautiful instrumentals and vocals as Willowgreen performs contemporary, traditional, and original Celtic music from various Celtic backgrounds: Ireland, Newfoundland, Scotland, Wales, Canada, and the U.S.A.
Tickets prices will remain $15 per concert, except for the Messiah performance, which is free to all. Patrons can purchase a season five-pass for $60 and receive one concert at no cost. And, students always attend for free at every ACMS production!
